Per la realizzazione di una workstation "casalinga" ero alla ricerca di un case con delle caratteristiche ben precise, ovvero:
- Un design pulito e minimale;
- Spazio...tanto tanto Spazio;
- Un buon Airflow;
- Almeno uno slot da 5,25
- La possibilità di ospitare una scheda video dalle dimensioni "generose" (RTX 3080Ti) ed un dissipatore ad aria altrettanto monumentale (un Deepcool Assassin III per raffreddare un 5950x)
Dopo varie ricerche e letture ho deciso di dare fiducia a questo Pop XL Air. Da possessore di un modello Meshify, anche in questo Pop XL Air ho riscontrato molti dei segni distintivi di casa Fractal.
Il case è ben realizzato. Il design è veramente minimale ma al contempo estremamente pulito ed elegante. Il frontale ricorda molto quello del Meshify. Buoni i materiali anche se il telaio in metallo risulta "a sensazione" un po' leggero. In termini di spazio nulla da dire. E' veramente uno dei case più capienti e meglio organizzati che ho mai visto.
La parte anteriore consente di organizzare al meglio il cable management anche con le configurazioni più onerose (ho installato nella parte posteriore 4 ssd + tutta la cavetteria dell'alimentatore in maniera pulita e con il minimo sforzo).
Ottima la dotazione. Il case arriva con 4 ventole da 120mm RGB pre-installate (3 intake ed una in estrazione) che possono essere collegate in modalità daisy chain direttamente all'hub del case o su quello della vostra scheda madre (dipende da come volete controllarle). Personalmente le ho sostituite con delle omologhe ventole Noctua Industrial da 120mm per due motivi: necessità di massime prestazioni (soprattutto in airflow) ed una spiccata avversione verso tutto ciò che luccica.
Una cosa che ho molto apprezzato, i due slot da 5,25 posti alla base del case e resi invisibili da un coperchio a chiusura magnetica.
Una cosa invece sulla quale sono dovuto scendere a compromessi, è il pannello laterale finestrato in vetro temprato. Avrei preferito un pannello solido in metallo per due motivi: una maggiore robustezza della struttura e l'inutilità del vetro (collegata alla mia avversione alle lucine!!!). Purtroppo una versione "solid" di questo case non sono riuscito a trovarla.
Al prezzo di 124 Euro penso che non si possa chiedere di meglio. Veramente un gran bell'acquisto che consiglio !!!

UPDATE: Finished my build. Was upgrading from an old case, so that took some extra time. The Rear fan was hard to remove and had to pry the tab a bit to remove the wire. The external bays barely fit back in the case without using the provided shallow screws. I am unable to put the bay cove back on due to the levers on my hat swap dives. It was a bit tight in the basement, but was able to hide a lot of the wires good. I really liked the top cable management slot as it made it easier to run wires. If you ae puting an AIO on top, you have to completely wire the mobo ahead of time. I had so many wires on the underside, I was surprised, it was easy to put the side panel back on. This is the best case in recent years for lining uup GPUs and other cards. Normally, I have to pivot the card in order to get good access to the ports. This case was perfect and I didnt have to adjust the card at all. The slotted front and back fans are awesome as you can adjust the airflow by sliding the fans up and down before final tightening. The wider case is amazing and gives a lot of flexibility in wiring and HD placement. The basement is great to hide extra wires. Great air flow as well. I like I was able to put my 240 AIO on top easily,

Summary: Overall this case is great. No sharp edges and pretty good in the flexibility department. I spent about an hour just reviewing the case to become familiar with it, so I could plan my build. I am very excited to start.
Details. I have been building systems for a looong time and am very picky about my components. I also need to have external bays which seem to be harder to come by these days. I like to have my DVD reader/writer and I like to have my platter drives and SSD drives in hot swap bays. This case has 2 bats, I could use a third, but I will make due. I currently have a fractal G which has been great, but the external drives make it hard to put the radiator on top. With this case, I have more flexibility since the case is wider and the bays are at the bottom. There is actually room up top or even in the front. I also have learned to appreciate being able to see inside the case as well as the argb fans. I neve much cared about that, but have frown to like the colors and visibility. Before getting this case, it was difficult to see how the external bays looked as well as if you could see the fans through the front panel. That why I took so many pictures in case anyone else wanted a little bit more clarity. The front mesh is perfect and you will be able to see your fans no problem. The basement of the case is a bit challenging to access, but it doable once you remove both side panels and the front panel. There is a spot in the basement for 2 3.5 drives which you have to remove if you want to use the external bays. However, you can remove both easily and even relocate one of then to the side of the case, since it is wide enough as shown in the pics. There is actually room where they could have allowed both on the side, but didnt. Also, you can just remove the top bracket and install one ODD in the top bay leaving the bottom HDD tray and the little pull out tray in use.
I was surprised of the quality of that little tray as it snaps in perfectly. I will be removing the included fans and replacing with my own. I dont even know why they include them. The case easily holds the normal 120s, but also the larger ones. Cable routing seems pretty good and a lot of it can be hidden in the basement especially if you are wiring anything in the external bays. I really like how they decided to use that space for the external drives, it really cleans up the wiring and for people who dont have drives, it doesnt interfere with the look and functionality. Nice clean look with or without ODD. Yes it would be nice if they had the HDD light and reset buttons, but I can live without. I never use the usb or audio functions on the case so I could live without that. I think they should have the reset on there for either resetting or connection to your RGB controller. And I think they should include the little speaker that connects to your mobo. Nice to hear the beeps when it is starting up. The pc speaker used to be part of the case in the old days lol. Great flexibility and a nice clean look. Fractal is becoming my favorite case maker.
Questo case è di una qualità senza compromessi. Robusto, bello nell'aspetto, semplice da assemblare e garantisce la massima flessibilità di configurazione. Nell'opinione AIR arriva con tre ventole già montate che sono silenziose e lavorano egregiamente.
Super soddisfatto dell'acquisto.
Unico neo l’assenza del pulsante di reset.

Ho dovuto anche prendere delle extension sleeve per agevolarmi col cablaggio ma questo anche per colpa della parte guaniata dei cavi modulari.
Armatevi di molta pazienza, non c'é molto spazio di manovra dopo che avrete montato la scheda madre se avete un dissipatore della CPU generoso e anche il cable management non é stato affatto semplice, se avete una scheda madre come la mia (msi b550 vhd) vi consiglio di optare per un altro case.
Belle le tre ventole incluse, ma un flusso d'aria di 32CFM é un po' debole per delle ventole da 120, ma potrebbero andar bene per la maggior parte delle configurazioni, io le ho cambiate per esigenza personale.
Altra nota che la parte mesh anteriore non ha un secondo filtro antiplovere, l'ho risolto montando un filtro sulle ventole e adesso entra molta meno polvere.
In sostanza é un case di qualità e fa davvero la sua figura, non adatto a tutte le esigenze (e ci può stare,) ma se rientra nelle vostre non posso fare altro che consigliarlo.
